The music is playing, but nothing is happening. The game begins the load sequence, I see the little loading status icon (like a pie chart divided into 4 sections in the bottom middle screen), and it stops just a hair over the 3/4 mark. I change the resolution to my monitor's native 1680x1050, and finally select "new" to start a new game. I go to settings and set it to as low as it can go, but it has no effect. It's as though the sensitivity is maxed out, with maximum acceleration. The first thing I notice on the menu screen is that my mouse moves WAY too fast. The patch installation goes OK, and the game automatically starts up. I go to and get the latest patch for the game, 1.5, and begin by installing that patch. Start, All Programs, and nothing there for Fallout 3. Fallout 3's install went well, but it didn't create any shortcuts in my start menu for some reason. I've had the game, sitting in plastic, for about 3 months, so I was pretty excited to check it out. I finally decide to unwrap my Fallout 3 and install the game.
